The site for Show Hope was a build based on a design they brought to the project. After digesting their tastes and needs and testing on various frameworks and themes, I decided to build on the Avada Theme by Theme Fusion.
The Show Hope project included new territory for me when it comes to jquery scrolling and sticky menus. Fortunately, there was a plugin combination of plugins for that. Check out Page scroll to id, Sticky Element, and Custom Menu Shortcode (which hasn’t been updated in since 2012 but still works) if you are hoping for that “sticky menu” functionality that scrolls with the user down the page.
Plugins used in this project included the regular “every-site-I-build-I-usually-install-or-recommend-these” (Gravity Forms, AddThis, DISQUS Comment System, RefTagger, Redirection) as well as a handful of premium plugins including Slider Revolution, UberMenu, and UberMenu’s Menu Management Enhancer. YouTube Videos were brought in using the Youtube Channel Gallery, SEO is managed by WordPress SEO and W3 Total Cache is helping with optimization. Simply Instagram and Simple Local Avatars help round out the bulk of social integrations.
The project was finished in February 2014.
